1 Introduction
National Museum of Singapore was found in 1887, it is the national’s oldest and largest museum, which located in 93 Stamford Road, Singapore. It is an iconic architecture, bringing together the new and the old on one single site, which has 18400square meters. It is custodian of 10 national treasures and its Singapore history and living galleries adopt cutting-edge and varied ways presenting history and culture to redefine conventional museum experience. The museum is a architectural and cultural landmark in Singapore, the museum hosts innovative events and festivals all year round – the dynamic night festival, visually arresting art installations, as well as amazing performances and film screenings – in addition to presenting thought-provoking exhibitions involving critically important collections of artifacts. The programming is supported by a wide range of facilities and services including F&B, retail and a Resource Centre.

2. Description of tour
Our three students joined in a big tourist group of 20 people, which was organized by Chan Brothers. We entered into museum at 10 am, it took more than two hours, and we visited the history gallery and Singapore living museum. In the total process, it has tourist guide explain for us in the total process, actually we also watched video wizard and scroll museum brochure. In the Singapore living museum, we had interaction to experience the living of Singapore.
3. Target Market
In our tourist group, expect our two students, it was mainly foreign visitors. According to the age, they were Children, middle-aged and older visitors, for Singaporeans, they visit national museum as the whole family go with children. Actually in our visit, we found many students, especially schoolchildren, we also interviews the visitors random, then summary the results and found more than 50% visitor visited the museum as the family go with Children, about 30% visitors visited the museum as the school、company etc organized about 10% visitors visited the museum alone. 4. Needs of visitors
Alessandro Bollo, Luca Dal Pozzopl.(2005).found the mainly need of visitors visited the museum was know the history of country. We interviews to visitors random, and asked why came to visit the museum, and found visitors have tourists of Singapore, and want to know Singapore, visited the national museum was the best and fastest way to learn about Singapore. these people visited the national museum mainly to familiar the history of Singapore and people’s living habits, thus know Singapore, for the family visitors, they took the kids to visit the museum was mainly make kids know Singapore, particularly the history of Singapore,
4 Interpretation
4.1Definitions of interpretation
Han Qinqu. Ivy Chow(2004) research the interpretation, and thought the interpretation can promotion the tourist more easy and quickly know the tourisms, effectively interpretation is also important. Interpretation is a social activity that transfers knowledge to audience through application scientific language and other auxiliary expression based on the tangible. The interpretation is the bridge and link between museum and social, it is the museum cards, the quality and level of interpretation directly affects the quality of visitors, then affects the museum image of window, even affects the image of country. So the interpretation is important when visit the national museum. When tourist guide interpretation, the interpretation approaches includes brochures、promotional video、show, interactive etc.
4.2 Principle of effective interpretation
Bourdeau, L., and J.C. Chebat. (2001) and Pearce (2005) found the effective interpretation is important, it would affect the quality of tourism of visitors. The principle of effective interpretation as follow: firstly, interpretation should clear objectives, well-prepared, organized and reasonable, well organized, transfer the real situation to the visitors. Secondly, multi-channel and application auxiliary tools, such as explain onwards. Actually the interpretation should adopt some measure to attract tourists, for example detailed tell some stories, and interactive to visitors.
4.3Tourists’ demand of interpretation
For the tourist, they want to know the tourism, while due to the first time to the tourism, they not familiar with the tourism, such as precautions, stroke, so they need the interpretation to transfer the situation of tourism to them. Actually the tourism want to thorough know the tourism, and needs the deep and wonderful interpretation, so it require the tourism guide interpretation through many measures. According our interview of tourists, most of all tourists need the interpretation, and due to it is the first time and maybe the last time visit the tourism, they strong demand the best interpretation. #p#分页标题#e#
4.4 Interpretation of National Museum
In our tour to the national museum of Singapore, the interpretation was very good. The interpretations have expertise, and made tourists know the national museum very easy and fast. Tourists can know the national museum of Singapore not only from the tourism guide, but also from the brochures、promotional video、show, interactive etc. According to the interview of tourism, they were satisfaction the interpretation very much.
5 Evaluation of tour guide
5.1 Role of tour guide
John. Kevin K F. Wong(2001)research the tour guide, and found the tour guide is a necessary for the visitor, and allow tourists enjoy tourism. Tour guide is the person who appointed by tourist agencies, engage accompany tours to visit, tour and other personnel working according to the reception plan. Tour guide is an essential person, and is important in the tourism. Tour guide play a role as a bridge of communication, it not only transfer knowledge of tourism to the visitors, but also provide the service make the tourism take a pleasant stay put into the tourism. The service quality may decide the quality of tourism of visitors, so the tour guide must try best to provide the excellent service.
5.2 Principle of effective tour guiding
Heidi Dahles. (2003). Found the effective tour guiding was important, it related the quality of tour. Due to the tour guide play a important role in the tourism, so the effective tour guiding is also significant. The principle of effective tour guiding includes tour guide should have strong competence. The tour guide should not only have wealth of professional knowledge, but also have good moral character and ethics, provide excellent service to the visitors. 5.3 Tour guiding of National Museum
In our tour group, it had a tour guiding, who name is John, a native Singaporeans, and very family with Singapore. He was very nice, not only has wealth of knowledge, but also strong communication skills. He made us deeply know the national museum, particularly the history and living habit of Singapore, we enjoyed the tourism. Actually it also exists some problem. some tourists did not closely follow the group, and waste some time, so the management of tour guiding is not good, and not control the time plan, cause we had no time to watched some interesting, although these place is not important. According to the interview the tourists, 70% tourism complain the management of tour guiding is not excellent, while they given them praise.
6 Evaluation of tour experience
6.1 Preparation and skills
Before visit the national museum, it must have some preparation, inquiry the address of national museum, how to arrive to it. Contact the travel agent, even the talked the price. the information of national museum, which includes the precautions, the preparation items. Actually it also need some skills, the ability to seek information, communication, due to the language of Singapore are English, Mandarin, Malay, Tamil. 6.2 Expectation
Due to this was the firstly tour Singapore and visited national museum, the expectation of this tour know the history and living habit of Singapore, which includes the clothing, shelter, food, etiquette. I visited many museum, I expected the national museum of Singapore would have some difference from other museum, and made me acquire more knowledge.
6.3 Perception
After the tour, I enjoyed the tour, and found this tour was good. Firstly, the national museum was really wonderful, I not only saw the national museum, but also acquired many knowledge, particularly familiarly with Singapore. Secondly, the tour guiding also excellent, the experience and communication made me visit happy, the only complain was the management of tour guiding.. Thirdly, the interpretation also effectively, I can familiarly with the national museum comprehensive.
7 Risk analysis
Before we visited national museum, we made budge, and joined in a big tourist group of 20 people, which can have discount, add we were student, we can got more discount. we also inquire the weather, and choice the date which may had few visitors, make sure we can visited it relaxed. Actually before visited, we must collect enough information to make sure know the tourism, and reduce the risk.
8 Conclusions
This report mainly critique of Tour- National museum of Singapore, and found the target visitors are family and children, visitor visit the national museum mainly want to know history and living habit of Singapore. After visited the national museum of Singapore, we can acquire many knowledge of Singapore. The tour guiding was excellent expect the some problem of management. The interpretation of national museum also good, we can easy and fast know the national museum. In summary, this was a wonderful tourism.
