You must locate a minimum of three to five quality articles on your topic, although some students will choose to use more sources than this. These sources should be retrieved from the Library databases. These databases contain quality academic and business publications. Do not simply search for information on Google.
Having selected your sources, this assignment requires you to use these in your writing to discuss and validate your own ideas and opinions. This means that each of your sources must be correctly cited within the body of your essay, and that each source must also be correctly entered into a Reference List at the end of your essay. The essay question has already been provided above. Here are the other details you will need in order to successfully complete and submit your assignment, which counts for 20% of your grade in this course.
Word Limit: 1200 to a maximum of 1400 words. This word limit is inclusive of everything. It includes all the words in your essay and it includes your reference list. You must not exceed the maximum 1400 total word limit for this assignment.
Assignment format: To ensure your document is appropriately formatted, you must use the template document called B101assignment.docx. You can find this Microsoft Word document on CECIL. The template is simply a Microsoft Word document which has been set up with the correct default settings for this assignment, e.g. the correct font and font size, correct margins, correct line spacing, etc. We require students to use this template because it provides a level of consistency that facilitates both the individual and team peer review processes (by students), and the final marking of these assignments (by staff). The choice of font is easy on the eyes of the markers who will be reading hundreds of assignments. Therefore, you should not make any changes to the formatting provided in the template, e.g. do not alter the font, font-size, line-spacing, or margins. If you are using something other than Microsoft Word to prepare your assignments, then you should ensure you have looked at the template and that you adhere to its conventions and styles. must save your completed assignment as a PDF document with the very specific file name of B101assignment.pdf To save a Word document as a PDF from within a current version of Microsoft Word (e.g. Microsoft Office 2010), you can simply select ―Save As‖ under the File heading, and then select ―Save As Type‖ and choose PDF.pdf
Double-blind peer reviewing: Do not include your name, ID number, or NetID anywhere within your assignment, or in the file name. The email submission process will automatically keep track of which assignment belongs to which student (hence the need for you to use your University email account). It is good practice that you do not know whose work you are peer reviewing, and who is peer reviewing your work. During the individual and team peer review process that follows your submission of your written assignment, any attempt to discover or reveal the identity of the author of an assignment is unethical and may incur significant penalties.
Assignment submission: You must carefully follow the assignment submission instructions. Assignments must be submitted by email as an attachment, to the correct email address ([email protected]), in the correct file format (PDF), and with the required file name (B101assignment.pdf). All students must use the exact same file name, e.g. B101assignment.pdf – do not create a different file name and do not give your assignment a name that identifies you, e.g. sallysmithassignment.pdf.
