荷兰帝尔堡大学经济系申请信-Motivation  Letter

 

My name is Y.Jiang and my English name is Kaitlyn. I am from China, actually in the past I was a typical Chinese who is very conservative, shy, modest and restrained,I have been influenced by Chinese culture deeply. At the beginning, I could not get along with my foreign fellows very well, especially my group members. Because I definitely had no idea about how to do the teamwork, I kept silence, wrote down everything during the meeting and finished my part in time. Then my fellows had complains with me, I knew it was the time for me to change my attitude and behaviors. Now I often come up with my own opinions no matter it sounds reasonable or not, because I realize the essential thing for a group is discussion rather than self-denial. I am glad to study with my foreign classmates, communicating with them is a enjoyable and interesting thing. I have studied in Netherlands for half year, which will help me do better and adopted well in Tilburg University that is my biggest advantage compare with others students who stay in China.我的名字是华江和我的英文名字是凯特琳。我来自中国，实际上在过去我是一个典型的中国人是非常保守的，害羞，谦虚和克制，我已深深地受到中国文化的影响。在开始的时候，我能不能与我的外国同事很好，尤其是我的小组成员。因为我不知道如何做的团队精神，我保持沉默，写下了会议期间的一切，完成了我的部分时间。然后我们抱怨我，我知道这是我改变我的态度和行为的时间。现在我经常拿出自己的意见，不管它听起来合理与否，因为我实现的一组重要的讨论而不是自我否定。我很高兴与我的外国同学们学习，与他们交流是一个有趣的事情。我曾在荷兰半年，这将帮助我做的更好，在蒂尔堡大学，是我最大的优势与其他学生在中国比较好用。

 

I graduated from a key senior high school which located in Nanjing, my major was humanity because I was good at global history, Chinese and global politics, Marxism philosophy, socialistic economics and global geography, all of these I got A grades. Unlike other Arts students, Mathematics and statistics were my strengths as well. I know economics needs students with strong logical thinking analytic skill. The first time I encountered with economics was a politics lesson that involved game theory, which can be applied to complicated game such as checkers and chess, as well as real world problems, property division and politics. The most impressive example set by our lecturer was Greek Debt crisis, which is a dilemma like the famous prisoner’s Dilemma. It seems that the game theory can well explain how the world works. It maybe not easy to find the optimal solution when have multiple players. However game theory at least gives us a sense of logical and sophisticated thinking. As we got on with the class, I found myself keenly interested in economics and I do have ability to study economics well. During high school and secondary school years, I joined summer camps to Canada and Australia, which inspiredthoughts of oversea study life. #p#分页标题#e#

 

After graduated from high school I had a long summer holiday. Without university diploma and professional career experience, I could not get any specialized jobs which linked directly to my major, as a high school graduator I just found some simple part-time jobs, restaurant waitress, milk tea shop assistant, SuGuosupermarket saleswoman, andChina Life Insurance Company operator. I learnt the information of most popular wealth management products and insurance items.Depending on my convincing sales pitch and understanding of consumerpsychology,I achieved good sales performance in supermarket and attracted 3 clients for insurance company, which brought a strong sense of achievement. Fortunately, these work experiences let me confirmed that business and economics are the most suitable subjects for me. Business pays attention to practice, however the economics is more theoretical, I consider that the relationship between these two subjects is that economics provides an efficient way and analyzing marketing situation to address the business issues.I prefer to analysis situation and study theoretical knowledge. I chose go abroad to Netherlands to continuous my study and fulfill my dream. This year is my foundation year of Han Hogeschool, I have many compulsory courses,which include Statistics, accounting, logistic, marketing, Business project and the second language. I satisfied with my current study life but the economics course is taught by Dutch that is my biggest regret. 

 

Chinese students in my school tend to learn Dutch as the second language because it is easy to pass the exam and get high score, while I opted for Spanish, which is a big challenge for me. I am the only Chinese student in Spanish class. I learn Spanish not only because it is one of the most popular languages in the world but related my future plan as well. South American has large market, vast numbers of customers and many job opportunities. I am a lucky person who can go abroad and accept the higher education.Now I study and live with a thankful heart. Thus, I have obligation to help others and repay society.  After graduate from university I will become a volunteer in Argentina where I can help children who live in poverty to learn English andother subjects. Hope they can change their life by the way of learning knowledge. Meanwhile I could practice my Spanish and enjoy Argentina culture. After one year, I will go back to my mother country and work in a local bank or company, for a businessman in China Spanish is very practical to help me get a well-paid career. Before 40 year-old, I will retire and start my new life, open a café shop or a restaurant.

 

To be honest, I admit that I am not clever but very hard-working. After starting high school life, I spent most of time on studying and reviewing in the library. Although heavy academic pressure and long time study forced me to give up my hobbies, I still kept habitat to playing volleyball. At high school I joinedschool team and got the second place. Different with other sports just rely on individual’s ability, volleyball cultivates my capability of collaboration that is why I like it.#p#分页标题#e#

 

The primarily reason why I prefer to Tilburg University is that I am crazy about long history and rich culture of Tilburg.Since a very early age I enjoy reading books during spare time. For example, Pride and Prejudice that depicts vivid and distinct characterswritten by Jane Austen. I am fascinated with meticulous depiction of the European countryside and beautiful scenery. Furthermore, Tilburg is one of the best universities in Netherlands, especially economical college. Lastly, in order to avoid wasting time,Tilburg University makes study schedule tight and length of schooling (3 years) is shorter than Canada and USA, but the diploma value is higher than other countries. From the aspect of economy, I will gain higher rate of return on investment, at the same time it can largely reduce the cost and alleviate my parents’ financial pressure

老实说，我承认我不聪明，但很勤奋。从高中毕业后，我把大部分时间花在研究和在图书馆复习。虽然繁重的学业压力和长时间的学习，我不得不放弃我的爱好，我还是栖息地打排球。在高中时我加入了学校的队得了第二名。与其他运动项目不同仅仅依靠个人的能力，培养了我的合作，排球是我为什么喜欢它的能力。

 

主要的原因是我喜欢，我对蒂尔堡大学的悠久历史和丰富文化蒂尔堡疯狂。从很早的时候我喜欢在业余时间读书的书。例如，傲慢与偏见，描绘生动和鲜明的characterswritten简奥斯丁。我着迷于描写欧洲乡村的美丽的风景。此外，在荷兰蒂尔堡是最好的大学，尤其是经济学院。最后，为了避免浪费时间，使学校教育的蒂尔堡大学学习进度紧和长度（3年）比加拿大和美国，但是文凭的价值高于其他国家。从经济角度考虑，我将获得较高的投资收益率，同时可以大大降低成本，减轻父母的经济压力
