Evaluate the relationship between technology and narrative, focussing upon a specific subject area, e.g. a genre, medium, a director, a theme, a process (eg digital editing)
or
b) Choosing ONE aspect of narrative (eg structure, myth, genre, point of view, realism) show how an understanding of the applicable theory can benefit writers/editors/directors/producers/cinematographers/sound designers in the creation of original narratives.
For example, you might want to show how an understanding of mythology has helped writers to keep the Arthur narrative ‘alive’ – e.g. by comparing the film Excalibur and the recent TV series Merlin.
In either answer, a) or b), your discussion must demonstrate your knowledge of theory relevant to your chosen aspect, and provide a clear relation between theory and practice. a)或b)中任意一个的essay,你的讨论必须证明你对你选择方面的有关理论的知识,并提供一个明确的理论和实践之间的关系。A simple description of theory or the chosen aspect will not suffice - you need to investigate, challenge, synthesise, and present your own arguments.
