Dear Students, I have prepared some basic material to read in the form of book excerpts but you should complement your knowledge about each topic by searching the internet and reading more. I do not want you to produce the exact solutions of the exercises, show only by either a description or an implementation in Matlab or a performance of two, three iterations that you have analyzed the problems.
1. Recurrent Neural Networks
Read the text in Appendix 1 (Computational Intelligence by L. Rutkowski). Select one of the models describing the recurrent neural networks to classify three arbitrary patterns like digits, letters or other signs. Describe your way of thinking in some steps.

Read the text in Appendix 3 (Immunological Computation by Dipankar Dasgupta and Louis Fernando Niño). During the lecture devoted to immunological computation we have discussed the algorithms based on the behavior of the T-cell. The T-cell

4. Cultural algorithms
Read the text in Appendix 4 (Computational Intelligence by Andries Engelbrecht).Give a practical example of using the BCL (Basic Cultural Algorithm), which fits for your invented problem.
5. Fuzzy data mining
Read the description of the method(Appendix 5). Cluster the set (a, c), (b, d), (e, f ), (g, i), (c, d), (h, i) in at least the fuzzy 2-means partition according to the placement of points. Find the membership degrees of fuzzy clusters after two or three iterations. Set m = 2.
