CSC stocks were listed on Taiwan stock exchange in 1974. Currently it is the biggest steel company with over 50% market share of steel production in Taiwan. The comparative advantage CSC possesses is the valuable human resources that have been put through the company’s excellence-at-any-cost training and development programs. CSC dares to make breakthroughs and innovations, as well as establishes a role model in the steel business, and in CSC group’s diversification operations.
Why the research is worth investigation: Because the needs of employees are different from person to person. If flexible benefit does not meet the demand of employees, employees have not been motivating. Of course, work efficiency does not increase. If flexible benefit meet the demand of employees, employees have been motivating, and work efficiency can improve. So, the awareness of employees about flexible benefit is important to an enterprise. As long as understanding of the employee satisfaction, companies can better motivate employees, so improving the company performance.
Initial aims and objectives, as agreed with the organisation: The research is proposed to analyse the awareness of employees about implementation of flexible benefits in china steel corporation. The aim of the research was to find out in how far employees at china steel corporation were aware of the implementation of flexible benefits, in how far they satisfied with flexible benefits and did flexible benefits suitable for employees. The research will analyse the problems the company has met when implement of flexible benefits. Finally, the research will be given some suggestions for the company to enforce implementation of flexible benefits more effectively and ethically.
Outline methodology: The study population included all staff at China steel corporation, the corporation has 8600 employees. The population included senior managers and line managers and all staff.
The researcher will collect date through secondary research such as press articles, published company information, CIPD resources. In the secondary data, the researcher use interviews and questionnaires. Using interviews is not only more flexible in the interview process but also gives insight into what the interviewees see as relevant and important and researchers are able to gain rich and detailed information that is more of personal nature than any quantitative data could give (Bryman and Bell, 2007). The researcher considered that questionnaires are also an appropriate method. It is convenience that the researcher can send email or hard copies to staffs. And the staffs can answer questions of the questionnaire at any time and any place. And it also can gather some important information.
literature review: In this part, the researcher will review some article, and know some knowledge about the definition of flexible benefit, the types of flexible benefit. The researcher will find out why flexible benefit emerged, and the relevant motivation theories of flexible benefit. And then the researcher will find out what the advantages and disadvantages of flexible benefit.
