Introduction
Bioenergy play an important role in climate change mitigation. It’s the only renewable energy which could produce three energy forms: electricity, fuel and heat. Therefore, it leads to the fact that the supply chain for bioenergy is more complex than other renewable energies. Due to the lower energy density and kinds of raw materials, logistics cost and emission takes large place in whole life cycle of bioenergy. It is critical to optimal the bioenergy supply chain.
Bioenergy = biomss+energy
its supply chain could also be divided into two parts, supply chain for biomass, and supply chain for energy. The second part is the same as other energy transfer, so the supply chain for biomass is of importance for bioenergy development.
Basic terminology:
Biomass: it refers to a variety of organisms generated from the atmosphere, water, lands and so on after photosynthesis, that is, all the organic substance that could live and grow, which includes the plant, animal and microorganisms. The definition in general sense—biomass embraces all the plants, microorganism as well as the animal feeding on plants, microorganism and their waste. The representative biomass includes crops, crop waste, wood, wood waste and animal waste. The characteristics of biomass are reproducibility, low-polluting and widely distribution.
Supply chain management:it is a kind of management method where the product manufacture, transship, distribution and selling are conducted by gathering the supplier, manufacturers warehouse, distribution center and distributors effectively in order to reduce the cost of the whole supply chain system to the minimum under the condition of satisfying certain customer service level. Supply chain management includes planning, procurement, manufacturing, distribution and return of products, a total of five basic contents.
Research methodology
On the research methodology of the paper, case study is employed. As for the meaning or connotation of this strategy, there are many opinions from many theorists and scholars. And the collection of these opinions will be helpful for us to understand what case study is. Therefore, the author of this paper would like to make some explanation on these opinions: Case study is to make widely and detailed description to certain structure, and hope to find out the complexity of the issue, without the use of experimental design or control. (Van Horn 1973). Since there is no experimental design or experimental control, there is no obvious plan, and there is no controlling or construction of the research environment (Buckley, 1976). As to the individual case and the multi-case, there are similar opinions. Firstly, the individual case, carefully survey the individual organization, group or system; there is no variable controlling, experimental design or control (individual case) (Gummesson, E. 1991). Carefully survey many organizations, or environment, there is no variable control, experimental design or control (multi-case) (Olson 1983 and Boynton & Zmud, 1984). Case study is a positivism study. It is to study the current phenomenon in real life environment. There is no obvious boundary between the phenomenon and the environment. In the study, there are many source resources (Yin, 1985). In 1987, there were complements on this opinion by Benbasat, Goldstein & Mead, who stated that case studies was to survey a phenomenon on natural environment, the relevant information was collected with many data collection method. #p#分页标题#e#
In this paper, the author intends to introduce the sample on supply chain management system, and then analyze whether the system is applicable for biomass, if not, the paper will give the reason and then put forward the improvement measure so as to give an appropriate supply chain management system to biomass that could optimize the supply chain.
