According to the result of the self-assessment, I have realized that I have some weaknesses. Oral communication is the first weakness, which makes me feel embarrassed. Because of my educational background, I did not have enough opportunities to express myself in class. I grew up under the Chinese education system before 16 years old. Owing to the huge population amount in China, there are 40-50 students in one class. Thereby, every student doesn’t have too many opportunities to express themselves in class. Since I attended high school and college in the US, presentation is a common form to display our learning results. I have more opportunities to practice my oral communication skills. However, English is not my native language so that I have inaccurate pronunciation and use words appropriately. Therefore, I am not confident.
