SENIOR PROJECT INTERNATIONAL OFFERING 留学生经济学课程论文写作ECONOMICS 5950 COORDINATING INSTRUCTOR: Terry Glover This course has been the traditional senior project course in the Department of Economics at Utah State University. The undergraduate student has taken the economics principles courses in macroeconomics, microeconomics, the managerial economics and the macroecomics for managers courses. Some students who enroll in Economics 5950 have also had the intermediate economic theory courses in macroeconomics and microeconomics, the applied econometrics course, the mathematical economics course, and perhaps the industrial economics/game theory course, the financial economics course, and the history of economic thought course along with other courses in finance, accounting, and business and political policy courses. So this particular course is designed to put some of these concepts to work in a project that the student completes as partial fulfillment of the requirements for the course. For this international offering, this course will continue the tradition of helping the student to develop a project and accompanying analysis and conclusions and/or projections from the investigation that the project enables. However, some discussion and development of overall use of economics in investigation of economic issues combined with some elements of strategy, international marketing, and international business and finance will be a part of the course. This development will take place in parallel with the student development of a project that combines these elements along with economic concepts and applies them to a business, business/political, or methodological problems and/or set of issues. THE PROJECT The student, with guidance by the instructors, will investigate some business, strategy, economic or methodological issue or problem. This investigation may include a project or assignment that is needed to be completed as dictated by a particular business, industry, or government agency. This current problem is to be identified and analyzed, and the student then brings together economic, business, methodological and policy oriented course concepts along with business and industry issues to develop the project. The project may develop a strategy for a business or government agency. It may be developed along the ideas of international marketing, pricing issues, export/import issues, government-business interaction and regulation, or it may be strictly a methodological exercise such as a statistical/econometric/operations research development or tool that is useful in analysis. 1. Identification of the Problem: 确认题目 The student, with the help of instructor and facilitator will prepare and present a brief of the project. The brief will include: a) the identification of the problem or issue; b) what is to be done to solve or to apply some information to the particular problem; c) the data, if any data is to be collected and used; d) the projected methodology of analysis, and some projection of who will benefit by development of the project and the underlying reasons for such benefit. A presentation of the analysis and results of the investigation of the problem or issue will be given toward the end of the course --- This presentation will include the problem statement, the associated literature and literature review, the model, if any that is used, the analysis and discussion/projection of the results and outcome from the analysis. Some of this presentation, depending on the nature of the project, can be in electronic or summary form such as with the use of Excel worksheets, powerpoint presentation, other analysis software results. The instructors will decide, depending on size of class and classroom facilities, whether students can make there presentations in class (the desired format), or whether we just have to have the student make a written or software presentation of both the proposal statement and the final presentation. In any case, however, the student will be informed of the format of presentation that can be carried out.#p#分页标题#e# ------ Some project topics will be offered by the instructors early on in the course. The student does not have to use one of these topics unless one is of interest to the student and it is feasible to develop the topic further. The student is encouraged to discuss the project with the instructors so that an early start on the work can be initiated. Web sites and other material will be investigated and communicated between the instructor and the student.
Some ongoing topics of economics/methodological/strategy will be discussed and presented in the course by the instructors. These include the following topic areas. ---- Some students may be interested in development/growth issues that may be macroeconomic in nature, or be interested in international development policy issues. There are many interesting project topics in these areas in which the student may be interested. We do not have time set up this topic as a main discussion for the course, but if a student is interested in this area we can communicate some ideas and/or point the student in this direction for development of a project for the course.#p#分页标题#e#美国留学生经济学论文写作--- The development and discussion of these topics will all be via online presentation or with the use of certain software and will be initiated by the instructor and facilitator. We will refer to certain literature and other media that the student can investigate, but the student is not required to purchase several textbooks to work through these topic areas. The check-up on learning will be done through brief worksheets to be completed by the student with the help of the instructor and the facilitator --- we will also help the student in the development of the project through these exercises as well. GRADING Grades for the course will be based on the project proposal, the final project presentation, and work that is done to complete the topics A – D above such as possible worksheets that will check-up on the learning process that is occurring as we work through the topics outlined above. Project Proposal - 20 % of grade If the schedule does not call for completion of worksheets and only work on the proposal and discussion of above issues is completed in the course, then the grading is 30% for project proposal, and 70% for final project development and presentation (either orally or by other presentation form). Grades If you are missing everything and getting below 63 % --- let’s talk
