The amount of reading that you undertake will dictate the depth and breadth of the work you produce for this assignment. The lecture notes provided each week will cover the underlying themes and discourses associated with the question set however; additional reading will not go amiss and is encouraged. For guidance on additional texts that may be of interest see the bibliography at the end of each week’s lecture notes. Therefore, it goes without saying, that it is advisable to read and study them! A bibliography, constructed in the Harvard convention, must accompany your work and must be of a sufficient length. For those still not familiar with the Harvard system of referencing a booklet can be obtained from Eagle Library entitled “Cite me I’m Yours” or downloaded from the library website. You can also visit BISSTO (Bolton Interactive Study Skills Tutorial Online) “How to cite sources”. Level HE5 - it is expected that a bibliography will contain between ten and fifteen sources. As a MINIMUM the bibliography should include: two refereed academic journals, two professional journals and six academic books.#p#分页标题#e# In an attempt to maintain the integrity of your degree please take special note of the following. Plagiarism will NOT be tolerated or accepted the work must be original in all respects and all material used must be sourced and be found in the bibliography! Failure to adhere to these requests will result in marks being deducted at the very least. (Please sign the declaration below before submitting your work to the Students Programme Office). In addition the ‘buying in’ of essays from Internet sources will be dealt with seriously!
Please note that the use of the Internet as a ‘cut and paste’ resource for support material will not be accepted in both assignments and you will be penalised if used in this manner. You can use the Internet to access electronic journals, e-textbooks and reputable organisations; there are adequate textbooks, journals and periodicals to be found in the library. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

They should be placed, with a white general cover sheet attached, in the assignment boxes provided outside the Student Programme Office and NOT given to the tutor. Please note that all assignments are date stamped by the School Office once they have been taken out of the post-box. It is this date stamp which is taken into account (rather than the date stamp which students make themselves on the general cover sheet). Assignments not available at this time will be considered late unless an extension has been previously agreed. Penalties for late submission of coursework are: Students who fail to submit assessments by the specified date (without an extension being granted or without accepted Mitigating Circumstances) will be subject to the following penalties: • Up to 5 calendar days late = 10 marks subtracted but if the assignment would normally gain a pass mark, then the final mark to be no lower than 40%. • Up to 10 calendar days late = 20 marks subtracted but if the assignment would normally gain a pass mark, then the final mark to be no lower than 40%. • More than 10 calendar days late = 0 marks awarded.
